Accademia Ottoboni is an ensemble specialized in baroque and classical repertoire, playing on historical instruments. Founded in Rome in 2004, it gathers the soloist and orchestral experiences of some among the most active musicians on the international scene.
From 2005 to 2009 it has been Ensemble in Residence for the early music season of the IPSAR (Portuguese Cultural Institute in Rome).
The four CDs released until now – Concerts and Cantatas by Vivaldi (Stradivarius); Cello Sonatas by Vivaldi (Outhere – Music); Chamber Music by Boccherini (Outhere – Music); Il Violoncello del Cardinale (Outhere-Music) – have been much appreciated both by audience and critic, receiving many prizes such as two “Diapason d’Or”, “Gramophone Editor’s Choice”, “CD of the month – Toccata Magazine”.
Our CD dedicated to the music of L. Boccherini and published by Outhere-Music was awarded the Diapason d’Or as the best recording of the year 2015 in the category “Baroque Instrumental”.
Accademia Ottoboni has performed in many Festivals and early mucis seasons all over France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Malta.
